Now this is his first album. His voice is younger, and style a little different than later albums. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing this album that I’d never heard any songs from before. Harmonica is great in it as well as guitar. His lyrics are good too. I am so amazed how original he was right out the gate in his lyrics and his whole sound. A worth while album to add to any Dylan fan collection for certain. I hesitated at first ordering it, looking at that young face, but so glad I did.

Once again, I am buying a CD from an album I first bought in the 60s. But, to be honest, I’d forgotten how incredible this one is. I’d put off buying it because it only has two original Dylan songs on it. Granted, they are great. But, I’d downloaded them each a few years ago. Finally, after seeing his very young face staring at me on Amazon’s page for years, I bought it again. I’d forgotten how amazing his vocal takes were on the folk/blues songs he sings. Yes, he was a “folk” singer at the time. But, I’d tend to think of him more as a blues singer. His versions are howling, raw and very talented. As I said, I’d forgotten how amazing he was. Hard to imagine that this was 50+ years ago. Last year, I was thrilled to review his latest, Tempest. This album is a must for any listener who loves music. Buy it.
